I don't know why I do this, but it's there, and has always been there. I felt the pull from pre-k to the present. Yes, there were times when I was distracted and drifted away; but my return always seemed somehow inevitable. I suppose the simplest answer as to why I do this is because I want and really need to. At this point in my life, I find myself free from job, financial, and other life constraints that have held me in check in the past. For the first time I am free to create work in my own style that showcases the people, places, and often strange circumstances I often find myself in. I am a Realist and draw inspiration from Surrealism, random abstraction, Pop Art, cartoons, and of course "learn to Draw" with John Nagy. Classical three-year training with a heavy emphasis on skills, and tight realism were the hallmarks of my first art schooling. A decade later at college the emphasis shifted more towards the creative. What I hopefully present to you on this site is a working and interesting synthesis of the two. What you won't find here is a slick resume or traditional art web design. What you will find is an archival format that includes work from the present as well as past decades allowing you to see the thread of high strangeness that runs through and connects it all. Just be careful pulling that thread, and remember that judgement is instant but understanding slow. I ask you to keep a sense of humor, an open mind and if something catches your eye be sure to take a second look.
